The following incidents were reported by the Arlington Police Department.
ROBBERY, 200 block of S. Glebe Road. At 10:50 p.m. on April 29, an unknown suspect entered a store and allegedly brandished a firearm. The subject then proceeded to steal several items from behind the register before fleeing the scene by foot. The suspect is described as a black male, medium build, and approximately 5’7”-5’9”. At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing a yellow hoodie with black stripes, a black leather coat, gloves, and blue jeans.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 2400 block of S. Jefferson Davis Highway. At 1:14 p.m. on April 24, a store employee confronted a subject after seeing him conceal several store items. The suspect attempted to flee with the items, but was tackled by the store employee. The suspect then assaulted the store employee before dropping the items and fleeing the scene by foot. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’11”, 175 lbs, and in his 20’s. At the time of the incident, the subject was wearing a black straight red brimmed baseball cap with red and white writing on the front, a grey hooded sweatshirt with red horizontal stripes, dark jeans, and black sneakers with white trim.
BURGLARY, 1200 block of S. Joyce Street. At 6:15 a.m. on April 24, an unknown subject broke into an unlocked office suite and stole a black Dell laptop. There is no suspect description.
BURGLARY, 500 block of S. 31st Street. Between 6 p.m. on April 24 and 6:30 a.m. on April 25, an unknown suspect(s) broke into a commercial business and stole cash from a lock box. There is no suspect(s) description.
BURGLARY, 2800 block of N. Glebe Road. Between 8 p.m. on April 25 and 11:52 a.m. on April 26, an unknown suspect(s) entered a dorm room and stole the victim’s debit card and Macbook Pro laptop. There is no suspect(s) description.
BURGLARY, 5900 block of N. Wilson Boulevard. Between 9:30 and 11:35 a.m. on April 26, an unknown suspect(s) kicked in a basement door of a residence and stole prescription medication. There is no suspect(s) description.
BURGLARY, 2500 block of N. 20th Road. Between 10:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. on April 28, an unknown suspect(s) entered a residence and stole a Sony Viao laptop. There is no suspect(s) description.
BURGLARY, 1500 block of N. Clarendon Boulevard. Between 1:40 and 4:45 p.m. on April 28, an unknown suspect(s) broke into a storage area and stole rolls of copper wire and several tools. There is no suspect(s) description.
BURGLARY, 2400 block of N. Rockingham Street. Between 5 p.m. on April 24 and 11:31 a.m. on April 28, an unknown suspect(s) entered a residence and stole numerous pieces of jewelry. There is no suspect(s) description.
BURGLARY (COMMERCIAL), 1500 block of N. Clarendon Boulevard. Between 7 p.m. on April 28 and 6 a.m. on April 29, an unknown suspect(s) entered a locked office at a construction site and stole several items. There is no suspect(s) description.
STRANGULATION, 2400 block of N. 11th Street. At 12:15 a.m. on April 30, a known subject approached a victim while she was walking her dog. The subject attempted to harm the victim before fleeing the scene with the victim’s cell phone and dog. A 24-year-old man from Hyattsville, Md. was arrested and charged with strangulation, attempted malicious wounding, grand larceny, and domestic assault and battery. He is being held without bond.
EXPOSURE, 1000 block of N. Quincy Street. At 2:30 p.m. on April 27, a suspect exposed himself to female victim in a second floor aisle at the Central library. The suspect fled the scene when the victim alerted front desk staff. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 40-55 years old, 6” tall and 210 lbs. He was wearing a blue hat, blue long sleeve shirt and blue sweatpants at the time of the incident.
BRANDISHING A FIREARM, 3400 S. 25th Street. At 8:52 p.m. on April 18, a suspect brandished a firearm in the direction of a victim outside a residence. The victim immediately ran to safety and contacted police. The police located and apprehended the suspect a short distance away. A 28-year-old Arlington man was arrested and charged with brandishing a firearm within 1000 feet of a school and felony possession of a firearm. He is being held without bond.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 1400 block of N. Courthouse Road. At 12:35 p.m. on April 23, a subject asked a victim for money. The victim stated that he did not have any money and walked away. The suspect then chased the victim and struck him several times in the face. A 19-year-old Alexandria man was arrested and charged with attempted robbery and assault and battery.
BURGLARY, 3800 block of N. Nelson Street. Between 10:30 p.m. on April 16 and 7:20 a.m. on April 17, an unknown suspect(s) forced entry into the garage of a residence. Nothing appeared to have been stolen. There is no suspect(s) description.
BURGLARY, 5900 block of N. 10th Road. Between 10 p.m. on April 18 and 6:30 a.m. on April 19, an unknown suspect(s) entered a residence and stole a Apple laptop and Pentax digital camera. There is no suspect(s) description.
BURGLARY, 4300 block of N. Old Dominion Drive. Between 8:20 and 8:30 a.m. on April 19, an unknown suspect(s) entered an apartment and stole a purse. There is no suspect(s) description.
BURGLARY, 200 block of N. Piedmont Street. Between 12 p.m. on April 12 and 9 a.m. on April 19, an unknown suspect(s) entered a locked maintenance room in an apartment complex and stole two gas generators, copper piping and a compressor. There is no suspect(s) description.
BURGLARY, 3300 block of S. Wakefield Street. Between 9 a.m. on April 13 and 1 p.m. on April 20, an unknown suspect(s) entered an apartment and stole a Toshiba laptop. There is no suspect(s) description.
BURGLARY, 1900 block of S. Columbia Pike. Between 6:45 p.m. on April 17 and 9:56 a.m. on April 21, an unknown suspect(s) entered an apartment and stole various items. There is no suspect(s) description.
BURGLARY, 1700 block of N. Harrison Street. Between 4:45 and 5:30 p.m. on April 22, an unknown suspect(s) entered a residence and stole a laptop. There is no suspect(s) description.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 1900 block of N. Wilson Boulevard. Between 6 p.m. on April 18 and 5:30 a.m. on April 19, an unknown suspect(s) entered a construction site and numerous tools and equipment. There is no suspect(s) description.
INDECENT EXPOSURE, 200 block of S. 18th Street. At 12:05 p.m. on April 19, a subject exposed himself to a male victim at the entrance of a public restroom. A 58-year-old Arlington man was arrested and charged with indecent exposure. He was held on an unsecured bond.
